A Volunteer Life
What started as an ordinary volunteering experience late 2015, rapidly transformed into an extra-ordinarily purposeful mission.
From her home in New York, all my sister Margaux de Bokay had in mind was travel Africa and help protect wildlife, while being of service to local communities. What follows is a 6-month, eye-opening volunteering experience inside South Africa and neighboring countries.
Bringing top-quality cameras everywhere to film her journey, she tells the story of what it is like to remove yourself from western society and fully engage in the unknown.
The footage includes daily life & activities of a volunteer, caring for endangered wildlife, beautifully preserved natural habitats, and interviews of non-for-profit organization founders, parc managers, volunteers, and local population.
Now that I've taken over the project as a producer, my role is to find a distributor interested in releasing such a documentary.
We have 2To of FHD 1080p 25fps and 1080p Osmo raw images, and the liberty to edit into any desired format, from a regular 26/52mn documentary to a full-on mini-series centering around Margaux as the host.
Our intention is to share this powerful message, and all the lessons learnt with as many young & adventurous individuals across the globe as possible.
Work in progress.
